His honest genealogy :
He is the righteous branch from the prophetical branches and a holy donation from Imama donation .He is a lone is his time in the dutifulness ,devoutness and affliction after his brother Imam Al- Rudha (P.B.U.H) . He was born in 150 Hijra in Al-Madena Al-Munawara city according to the novel Yezid bin Al-Suliat to the novel of Abi Al- Hakam Al- Armai and died in 192Hujra in the of Sura in the quarter Bakhemra in which his holy shrine with golden minarets standing with lights to those who are near or far till all the people praise and proud of him .He is Al-Qasim bin Al-Imam Musa Al-Kadhum bin Ja'afer Al-sadiq bin Muhammed Al-Baqir bin Ali ( Zain Al- Abideen) bin Al-Hussein the martyrs bin Ali bin Abi Talib (peace be upon them ) .
His brother is Alibin Musa Al- Rudha . He is a stranger in Kharasan whose the poet about the death of his brother Al-Qasim (peace be upon him) .
His sister is Fatima bint Al-Imam Musa Al-Kadhum (peace be upon him ) is known (Ma'suma) the holly Qum in Iran , his mother is Taktum is known (Um Al-Baneen ) .She is from Morocco . His nephew is the ninth Imam who is Muhammad bin Ali Al-Jawad ( peace be upon him ).
Al- Imam Al- Qasim was a scientist and had high position and his father loved him very much therefore he recommended on him and this is a clear evidence of the position of Al- Qasim and in the tale of Abi-Salaiman Al-Jua'firi which puts down in Bihar Al- Anwar , He said : that he was withal-Imam Al- Kadhum (peace be upon him)in the city at the time of death of his son Ibrahim (peace be upon him) . He said to his son Al- Qasim " stand up and read at the head of your brother (Al-Safat sora ) then we said O'bin Rassul ellh (O'the prophet of God) if a person is about to die , it's better read at his head (Yasin sora) , The the answer of Al- Qasim was that when it was read on someone in distress the God helps him , this refers to the knowledge .
Paramont of Al-Imam Al-Qasim .
The novels were said that there was a great and special position to his father Al-Imam Al-Kadhum (peace be upon him ) therefore he said about Al- Qasim (I went out from my home and recommended to my son Ali …… till he said if the matter belongs to me , I will make it to my son Al-Qasim due to my love to him but it belong to Allah ) .
The position of Al-Imam Al- Rudha (peace be upon him) . Then Al-Imam Al-Rudha said " those who are unable to visit me due to the far distance , visit my brother Al-Qasim .
His life :
Al-Imam Al-Qasim was born in 150 Hijra and lined at thjis time four of Abbasiyan's califs such as Al-Mansor , Al-Mehdi , Al-Hadi and Al-Rasheed , because those four califs were stick angry with the men of Ahlulbait and because the men of Ahlulbait are represented the extant of the prophet of God and the material of wisdom and source of knowledge and his father is mercy for believers , Accordind to this , the Alwiyun (Ahlulbait) were followed to get rid of them in any way . This makes the (Ahlulbait ) to follow the hiding policy or trick policy by using their impeccable to hide the their impeccable sons to keep the universal existence as a whole (If the Imam had been here , the earth would have destroyed in their household as Al-Imam Al-Sadiq says ) . as a result , the sons of Al-Imam al-Kadum had spread in different places of earth to hide Al-Imam Al-Rudha and one of them is Al-Imam Al-Qasim due to his knowledge , wisdom , courage in additional to his being the only brother to Al-Imam Al-Rudha .
He moved from his grandmother's city towards Iraq with the trade caravans then he left them near Al-Kufa to walk beside the bank of Euphrate for a long distance till he reaches to a city called Sura that he found two girls carrying water , one of them said to second on O'by the owner of Al-Ghadir , the matter was not so , when Al-Qasim heard this swear , he asked them about the owner of al-Ghadir they said , he is Al-Imam Ali bin Abi Talib ( Ameer Al-Mu'mineen ) therefore he ensured that he was in safe and became happy then he knew that the name of this area is called Ba khamra ( The clay ) .
Al- qasim asked from one of these girls to show him the way to the chief (head ) of this tribe , she told him the chief man is my father when he reached , he stayed three days then he asked the chief men to find him a work At the end he worked as a carrier of water Al-Qasim (peace be upon him ) attracted most of the people in that area due to his praying , day and night and the light from his face therefore the head men (Al-Shakh) got his daughter married although all the men in the tribe didn't know him or his tribe just they know that he was strange . Al-Qasim didn't tell them about his biography to avoid the danger of his enemies .The tribe opposet that marriage but the chiefmen didn't care to this due to his satisfaction of Al-Imam Al-Qasim , therefore he got married the girl that guided him to the house of her father and swore of the owner of Al-Ghadir. This story is similar to the story of Allah prophet Moses when he went out of Al-Medina Al-Minawara towards Iraq , then he got married from one of them .
His Death :
Al-Imam Al-Qasi had died in 192 Hijra at the time of A-Rasheed due to his sickness . This gave the city a lot of sadness and pain due to they lost a famous person whose characteristics were paramount and their sadness became increased when hey knew his biography .
HIS WILL :
Imam AL-Qasim recommended sheikh Ba-Khamra to lavage , shroude and burn in the present place . Some narrations refers to that Imam AL-Qasim had a daughter , theses narrations mentioned that he recommended the sheikh to go with his daughter (AL-Qasim’s wife) to pilgrimage and to take their daughter with them and to make his way to AL-Madina when he came back from Mecca. As soon as he entered AL-Madina he would leave the girl to walk spontaneously to stop at last on the door of a high house which is their house . This story happened when the sheikh and his daughter had finished their pilgrimage on the next year , they went to AL-Madina with AL-Qasim’s daughter . Actually when AL-Qasim recommended the girl stand on a door of a high respectable house on which some women gathered asking her whose daughter are you ? The girl was just crying until a graceful woman got out and gazed at the girl to say this girl is AL-Qasim’s daughter . The girl then told her about her father’s story and that her father had died .
THE HOLLY SHRINE :
The shrine of Imam AL-Qasim (pbuh) locates at a place called Sora or Soraa . Sora as a good position from the land of Babylon is near the Mezaidian Hilla . (The Mezaidian Hilla or Saifian Hilla is a country founded by Sadaqa Bin Mansur Bin Dubais Bin Mezaid AL-Asadi in the late of the fifth Century of Hijra) .
The word Sora is mentioned in many historical references . As in AL-Boldan dictionary (written by AL-Hamawi) , AL-Mustadric for AL-Hakim and Dala’al AL-Imama (AL-Tabari) and Safenat AL-Behar for AL-Qomi . The word (river) is mentioned by AL-Imam AL-Sadiq (pbuh) and AL-Kadhim (pbuh) said by AL-Sadiq and Ibin Tawoos .
According to the modern naming , Sora represents AL-Qasim district which locates between AL-Hilla and AL-Diwaniyah cities . The holy shrine has many buildings in different ages as many narrators refered to such as Ibin Amba who died in the year 828 A .H . whereas some narrators refers to that the known building on the tomb of AL-Imam AL-Qasim (pbuh) was at the Safawi age . Sultan Shah Ismael the first was the first Safawi to visit the holy shrines in Iraq in the year 914 A. H. The grave was a shrine which had a dome and the tomb was a box made of wood located in a beautiful archade . Then the works of rebuilding and expanding the shrine continued till the shrine became very large with a goldy dome and two minarets .
THE HOLY CITY OF AL-QASIM :
The history of the city extends to the depth of history . It locates in the south of Babylon . It has a river called Sora . The city known of its orchard, the purity of its atmosphere , and the variety of its proceeds . AL-Imam AL-Hassan AL-Askari referred to this when one of the Alwaids visited him in Samarah . when this guest asked him to advice him where to live he recommended him to change his way from the north towards Sora in which he would find good living .
AL-Imam AL-Sadiq and AL-Kadhim (peace be upon them referred to the religious importance of the city when they replayed about the time of the pray of the morning (If you saw the whiteness of the dawn as that of the river of Sora) . AL-Imam AL-Qasim did not choose this place to ensure his personal safety because he kept his name and origin as a secret even the last seconds which means that he chose it for its efficiency to be an intellectual and scientific torch to the teachings of the households (pbut) . As a result of this plant of science many scientist had emerged such as Najeeb EL-Deen AL-Sorawari , Ali Bin Faraj AL-Sorawari and others .
In the modern age the city of AL-Qasim has occupied a good scientific status , so it has many thinkers , poets , Artists and creators as well as those who have high certifications in science and religion .
One of the most features of this city is that Allah gifts it many scientist as agents for the great religious scientists in AL-Najaf AL-Ashraf . As a result those scientists had left good and traces and reputation to this city throughout their deeds such the religious library and a library in the holy shrine .
The other characteristics of this city is its position which considered as a connection between southern provinces and the middle provinces from the administration aspect , the AL-Qasim district belongs to Babylon Governorate and the distance between AL-Qasim district and the centre of Babylon Governorate (Hilla) is about (30 KM.) and it is about (40 KM.) from AL-Diwaniya Governorate . Because of the existence of the holy shrine , many visitors from different places and cities are attracted to visit this Imam .
